Warning About Debt Settlement Companies

www.DebtWorkoutCoach.org The New York Times has an article about credit card companies and banks making offers to consumers to settle debts for a fraction of the original amount they owe. If consumers can get these offers from banks, why do they need debt settlement companies? And why are they paying such large amounts of money to debt settlement companies? Is this a scam?
